Rockets

Do you like Rockets? Well I do and this story is going to be about rockets and how we made them and the experience.

It was Friday 14th of June and light and summery outside we had been studying rockets for a few weeks with our ambassador (Daniel), he works for the Wonder Project a company who helps kids learn stuff and develop skills Daniel is pretty good at what he does.

We made the rockets from a 1.5 fizzy bottle which is the main thing and was pretty fun making them and the process my group was Kanita, Me and Dayna we worked really well and had heaps of fun on the process of making it but there were also some ups and downs when we were together like we weren't sharing and helping and being but we still enjoyed being wit each other.

We headed out with our class and the equipment that was already prepared from Daniel to make it blast into the air like a actual rocket doesn't that sound cool anyway we were the first group to shot our rockets into the air we used to 275ml of water and also 60 PSI which is the highest you can go then came the true test we shot into the air we counted from 5 4 3 2 1 BLAST OFF then into the air it went it didn't go far but was still cool.

I had a great time working with Daniel and with my Group they were so fun and also Daniel thank you for helping us and teaching us to learn some cool stuff for the future and helping us realise what we want to be and also my experience was amazing and had great fun and made some memories with my group.
Here is our rocket the bottle is the rocket

Teachers Strike

Why did the teachers strike? well today in this writing your going to find out why and also some of the opinions that teachers thought of it and also the agreements and disagreement for the school and for the teachers
Hundreds of teachers, parents and students gathered at the Church Steps on Trafalgar St, Nelson, during the national teacher strike last year.

The reasons for there strike was because the were made to work extra and they dont get paid extra and they even gotta work on weekends rather then spending quality time with there family and there friends because you only live once.

Finally I agree for the strike because the teachers get a day with there family and also we get a day of which is a win win in my head and that day was fun to have of because I went to visit my baby cousin which was cool to.

Paintballing with my family

Have you ever been shot? Well you probably haven't but that's what it felt like last summer when I went paintballing, even though it hurt it was really fun to spend that time with my family and some of my friends.

First we went to Palmerston North, to meet up with some of my cousin's we then drove to paintball to meet up with the rest of my family,I was so excited because my baby cousin came to and this was the first time I had meet him

We then put on the gear, for the arena otherwise, we would have been bear skin with normal clothes on but it would have hurt a lot more then if we didn't have the suits on, we went into the arena which was the woods and got ready for battle.

Next we had to start in teams our team won three times the other team won two times, we then had the individual rounds most of the kids shot the adults heaps of times and the kids only got shot like once, but then all of a sudden I got shot it was so sore I screamed my ears of.

Finally the day at Paintball was over I was exhausted I took of the suit, there was a huge bruise it was still sore and I was kinda angry but I got over it and enjoyed the time with my family and all my friends that were also there.

Kind regards Koya

Commemoration Day

It was Monday the 11th of March and it was during our third and fourth period we had to go to the front by the hall these visitors had come from the Navy and the Army for the SWS Mowewe, they were welcomed in by a Karanga from Whaea Maharata, and when they had been welcomed in they sat down and so did the rest of the students. Then Mr Fraser stood up to introduce himself and the school and then this Tu stood up to do a poem that I think he wrote after his poem then we did short song then they started to do a speech about the ship and about there loss after that we then did another song. The kids started to give the flower wreaths, to the army people for them to lay on the ship and some kids, also started to lower the flags. Then after that we had stand in silence for 1 minute while the orchestra was playing there beautiful music I thought it was pretty cool then the priest told the army people they could go have tea in the kitchen but before they left we said a prayer.

I enjoyed When the orchestra played the music it was beautiful music.

I learnt more about the the ship and how it went down.
